Q. Can Brisbane broncos win the grand Final, have they got the momentum now to make it in the 8, then there big game players to play great finals football to win the big one? - Dominque (Huge Broncos Fan)- Biloela Caravan Park

A. Unfortunately I do not think that the broncos can get the momentum required to win a premiership, I am not even sure that they will make the top 8.  The run home appears very tough for Brisbane and I think a lot of the future can be determined from this weeks game against the cowboys.

On paper they have the team and have been getting stronger, I particularly like the interchange bench plus Michael Ennis.

If the broncos can sneak into the 8 in 8th place I think Melbourne will knock them out, I think Manly will finish in second so Brisbane will also struggle to beat them away at Brookvale oval.

Personally I think you should start your preparations for next season as the Broncos will be a threat.

Good luck - Guru

Q. Who do you think will be in the 1st test of the summer and why, the interesting one will be the opener? - Robin from Biloela Centre Motel

A. Robin, Yes it will be interesting I think Chris Rogers should be thrust into the openers role.  He is ready.

My team would be -
Matt Hayden
Chris Rogers
Ricky Ponting
Michael Clarke
Shane Watson
Andrew Symonds
Adam Gilchrist
Brett Lee
Ben Hilfenhaus
Stuart Clark
Stuart MacGill

This team should be the transition team for next summer, with the likes of Stuart Clark and Stuart MacGill and Matt Hayden considered for rotation out with replacements blooded to take their place in the following season.

Q. Should we bring back the old cricket players i.e. Beer after the game, sculling at that night, or keep the athlete where they do warm down laps and drink PowerAde? - Robin from Biloela Centre Motel

A. At the club or district level I think it would be OK to keep the old cricket player, I also feel that even the elite international cricket should have some bonding time after a match, depending on when the next match is. Recovery starts immediately.  Preparation for the next game also starts immediately, so team bonding in the form of a moderate drinking session could be seen as OK. Remember the elite cricketers are professionals and they are being paid to play cricket, it is their job, so its hardly good to drink whilst on the job.  so I say in moderation yes bring back some bonding, provided it remains in control I think it is a good idea.
